Shoulder to Shoulder
IN SERVICE

Our mission is to provide Christ-centered support to Military Service Members, Veterans, and their Families. Our vision is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to Lutheran Service Members directly and through support of WELS and ELS synodical efforts, and to unchurched Military Service Members. We do this through retreats for combat veterans and their spouses, public ministry scholarships, and community education publications. Our ministry is supported by generous donors to our Ammo Can Campaigns.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3-4

This retreat is specifically designed for the Combat Veterans in our congregations. Build camaraderie with fellow believers and Veterans while engaging in subjects related to the challenges of returning home a different person.

Military Couples
A recent study showed that military jobs have the highest rate of divorce among all other professions. Deployments can change the dynamics between couples even after everyone is home. This retreat is intended to provide resources to couples impacted by the effects of combat deployments.
