Information: LuVerne Boes is the current Treasurer of the Lutheran Military Support Group (LMSG) and is a charter board member.

LuVerne is a Vietnam veteran and 20 year retired Master Chief Petty Officer of the U S Navy. Most of his career was spent in aircrew duties as an inflight technician onboard a P-3 Orion Anti-submarine aircraft and at the Naval Military Personnel Command, Washington, DC as an Enlisted Aircrew Assignments Detailer. Following graduation from the Senior Enlisted Academy he was assigned to HSL-42, Mayport, Fl. as Command Senior Chief and welcomed the Navy’s newest helicopter, the Sea Hawk, Lamps Mark III to the fleet. He eventually was able to go aboard the USS Nicholas (FFG-47) with the new anti-submarine warfare system. Upon advancement to Master Chief he was assigned back to Washington, DC as the Washington Area Assignments, MAAGS/ Special Missions Detailer from where he retired.

Following retirement from the Navy he purchased Century 21 Capital Realty Corp., a real estate franchise in Manassas, Virginia where his wife Lillian, children Julie and Edward (now with families of their own) were to finally unpack and stay for a while!

LuVerne and Lillian have moved a few times since and now are happy in their home in rural Nokesville, VA. They are current and founding members of Bethlehem Lutheran, Manassas, VA.

LuVerne holds life memberships in the American Legion, VFW, The Retired Enlisted Association, Fleet Reserve, and The Retired Military Association. Most active in the American Legion, he has served in many positions of leadership at the Post, District and Department levels.
