Thomas Kroon

Information:  Thomas Kroon graduated from High School in 1963 and went to Penn State extension in Greensburg PA, where he received an associate degree in Business Dec. 1965.  Thomas was drafted in Dec 17, 1965 into the Army and sworn in the state of Pittsburgh. Then he was sent to Ft  Jackson, SC for a month and  from there was sent to Ft Lewis, WA for basic and AIT training. He then was assigned to be a gunner on the UH1 Helicopter and trained on it at Ft Lewis. Thomas was with the 120th Aviation BN, and then was attached to HHC 2nd Bn 4th INF DIV. He went on a troop ship to Viet Nam and went on shore Aug 15th, 1966, and was sent to Dau Tieng  in War Zone C  Plekieu Area along Cambodia border, then the 25th Div took over.  Thomas left Viet Nam on Sept 27th, 1967 and was discharged from Oakland Army base.

Thomas started work with Trans World Airlines in Jan 1968  in New York JFK and LGA Airport as a flt dispatcher. He was transferred to Pittsburgh PA in 1972, then was transferred to Omaha NEB  in 1981. In 2001 TWA was bought by American Airlines  and Thomas was able to keep his position with American. He later retired from American in Nov. 2005.  Thomas is still busy with the US Army Reserve,  Family Readiness Program and is an Elder at Gethsemane Lutheran.
