Information: Erhard Opsahl is a retired Army colonel who belongs to a WELS congregation near Madison, Wisconsin. He is a graduate of Northwestern Prep and Northwestern College in Watertown. Opsahl possesses a PhD in medieval history from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and has taught a dozen years at Watertown Luther Prep.
During Vietnam Opsahl spent a year in an infantry battalion. Subsequently, he was stationed for 12 ½ years in the Pentagon, all but four in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. The VA has determined that he is partially disabled because of PTSD.
Currently, “Erik” Opsahl is the president of the Lutheran Military Support Group.
