PTS Support

Our Warriors return home different after a deployment to a combat zone. They leave a piece of themselves behind in the country in which they served. According to a recent Veterans Affairs (VA) study, an average of 17 Veterans commit suicide each day. Depending on the service era, between 10 and 29% of Veterans will experience post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) at some point in their lives. One-fifth of Veterans dealing with PTSD are also struggling with a substance abuse problem. It is possible that Veterans can experience symptoms of trauma without recognizing it.

LMSG strives to make a difference for those impacted by any amount of post-traumatic stress or PTSD. We hope you find these resources useful.

The Conflict at Home: Soldiers Confronting PTSD
The Conflict at Home: Soldiers Confronting PTSD
Written by Rev. Dr. Steven Hokana, this booklet is dedicated to the service personnel who protect our great nation. They put their lives on the line and they do it without question. This also goes out to their families. They, too, struggle physically, emotionally, and spiritually as service members come back. Finally, this is dedicated to the One who was with them during those moments of danger, fear, and loneliness—our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who always loves us no matter how we think and feel about ourselves.

Deep as the Sea
Deep as the Sea

This book is not a devotional or self-help guide, but a carefully written walkthrough of the healing process. Using his doctoral expertise on addressing trauma through a Christian lens, Pastor Timothy Bourman will help you grieve through the pain, find refuge in God, and discover a new purpose in life. Pastor Bourman provides an overview of current psychological treatment models and many comforting Scripture readings to address the grief, sorrow, shame, anger, and other emotions that accompany traumatic events.
